What is Gypsum Plastering ?

Gypsum Plaster is made from gypsum, a naturally occurring mineral composed of Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate. It is popularly known for its excellent fire resistance, quick setting, lightweight and sound insulation properties. Gypsum plaster gives a smooth and consistent finish, suitable for walls and ceilings. It can be directly applied to brick or concrete surfaces without requiring an additional bonding agent. The plaster is produced by heating the gypsum rock to remove chemically combined water, creating a dry powder that is mixed with water to form a paste for application.

Gypsum Plaster is mainly used for finishing interior walls and ceilings. It provides an even surface for painting or wallpapering.
Drywall Construction
Gypsum boards or drywall panels are made using gypsum plastering, providing a fast and effective method for installing interior partitions and false ceilings.

Gypsum Plaster is also used for creating decorative mouldings and cornices, enhancing the aesthetic values to the interiors.
