Description

1. Map your training zones before selecting colors. Interlocking gym flooring in multiple colors creates clear zone boundaries that guide traffic flow and reduce congestion. Decide where strength, cardio, and mobility areas will be before committing to a color scheme.

2. Start your tile layout from the center of the room. Beginning rubber floor tiles from the center and working outward produces more even border cuts on all sides. Starting from a wall often results in one side with full tiles and the opposite side with a narrow, awkward strip.

3. Order border and corner pieces separately. Edge pieces in rubber floor tile systems are sold separately from field tiles. Calculate your perimeter and order borders at the same time to avoid a second order that delays the full installation.

4. Build in a ten percent material buffer. Cutting interlocking gym flooring around obstacles, pipes, and irregular edges creates waste. Ordering ten percent above your calculated square footage prevents coming up short and eliminates tile variation between production batches.
